Tems sets mark for highest streaming day for female Nigerian artist
On Friday, Tems delivered her highly anticipated debut studio album, “Born In The Wild.” 18 songs were released, which were led by singles such as “Love Me JeJe” and “Me & U.” Moreover, Tems also collaborated with J. Cole and Asake. Tems initially previewed the J. Cole “Free Fall” collaboration, earlier in the week.
Meanwhile, Tems is already breaking more streaming records, following the release of Born In The Wild. According to Chart Data, she has broken the record for the biggest streaming day for a female Nigerian artist in Spotify history. This comes as a result of eclipsing 8.028 million streams, on Friday. Tems had been working on this debut album for three years, following her initially soaring to stardom, in the fall of 2020.
Furthermore, Tems will also be venturing on her Born In The Wild World Tour, this month. The opening date is scheduled for June 12, in London. The tour will run all the way until November 15, where it concludes in Sydney, Australia. Tems will be visiting Europe, North America, Africa and Australia. Tickets for all dates are currently on sale now.
