Texas sends over 300 migrants to Chicago over the holidays

For years, the crisis at the border has been a political discussion. The situation broke down, along political lines, as opposed to everyone working towards solutions. On the right wing side of the aisle, there are complaints about too many people crossing into the US without going through the proper channels. Then, on the left wing side, there’s complaints about not being inclusive towards people. Most of the border states are ran by right wingers. As a result, they’ve sent migrants into left wing places.

Instead of migrants consistently flooding places like Texas and Arizona, they’re now being sent to such places as New York City and Chicago. As a result, immigration has become a more diverse topic, even in left wing places. The mayor of New York City has faced much scrutiny with how he’s handled the influx of migrants. Also, he has had a tense relationship with Texas’ governor. Now, the state of Texas is sending the migrants to other cities, such as Chicago.

To ring in 2024, the city of Chicago has had three hundred migrants shipped to the city. They have come directly from Texas. Immigrants have arrived by bus and by plane into Chicago. As a result, the city is already become overwhelmed. Since September, migrants have been being sent into the city. So, Chicago has asked their suburbs to help place some of the migrants. In turn, Rockford has become a place where many have landed. Rockford, however, isn’t a sanctuary city.
