Teyana Taylor speaks after news of divorce from Iman Shumpert

A few days ago, it was revealed that Teyana Taylor filed for divorce from Iman Shumpert, back in January. This comes after she initially revealed in September, that they were separated. They were married for over seven years, as Teyana emphasized that infidentlity didn’t play a role in the separation.

However, court documents from the January divorce paperwork stated that Teyana mentioned infidelity, as well as Shumpert being jealous of her fame, especially when he was excluded from paparazzi photos. Furthermore, she also labeled him as a narcissist and verbal abuse.

Meanwhile, Teyana has now released a statement in her Instagram stories, regarding the latest divorce news. She claimed that she never publicly spoke to any media outlets, and that her information that she provided about the divorce in court documents were leaked. Moreover, she asked for privacy at this time, as she wants to “protect” her family.

This comes after Shumpert’s attorney also released a statement, in regards to the divorce. He says that the former NBA player “hopes parties and counsel can work toward a fair resolution, keeping the best interests of the children of paramount concern.”
