One of the rising talents in North Carolina is up-and-coming renaissance man, Nelson Davis, who holds many job titles. Among the roles Davis plays is that of filmmaker. During his interview with Hip Hop Vibe, back in September, Nelson Davis said he produces movies because there is a void in his native Jacksonville, North Carolina.
In 2010, Nelson Davis began working on his film, TheSexSymbol87, which was released this past week. Not only does Davis produce the film, he also has the starring role of Jamarcus. The film has been one of the best-selling independent films in the area, with many wanting their copy. The hard work of Nelson Davis caught the attention of “The Anchor Show.”
The previous episode of “The Anchor Show,” in the wake of Don Cornelius and Whitney Houston dying, was dedicated to those who have died over the past year. However, the next episode of “The Anchor Show” will focus on the birth of many new projects. Among the new projects born has been TheSexSymbol87. Now, Nelson Davis will tell V!RTU how the film came together, mention some of the hardest parts of creating the film, with no major backing.
