Before he became one of the top singers in the game, The-Dream was a leading songwriter. After creating “Umbrella,” The-Dream decided to launch his solo career. His first single, “Shawty Is a 10,” was a major hit and even saw Jay-Z sample his bridge for his album.

The-Dream went back into songwriting and penned “Single Ladies,” which cemented Beyonce’s status as #QueenBey. Since then, The-Dream has navigated back into being behind the scenes. He currently is an exec and also a popular songwriter.

N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN got The-Dream for their latest “Drink Champs” episode. The conversation touched on The-Dream creating “Umbrella” and “Single Ladies.” Due to his relationship with Jay-Z, he also discussed his and Kanye West’s current situation.
