When Jay-Z and Kanye West revealed they had a new album in the works, there were few people who doubted it would be album of the year. However, there were many who doubted if the album would ever be completed. It did not take long before all talk of Watch the Throne ended and it was assumed to be another Detox.
However, during the summer of 2011, Jay-Z and Kanye West officially became The Throne and “Otis” was released. Immediately, the focus was back on the Roc Boys and the album was officially delivered in August. While “Otis” was the first hit, “Niggas in Paris” would be the single to set records.
