As fans were beginning to write Watch the Throne off as a myth, Jay-Z and Kanye West emerged with the album. The album was led by the energetic, “Otis,” which was freestyled by several rappers. Initially, “Otis” was the most-freestyled track in the game, but it was soon replaced by “Niggas in Paris.”
The popularity of the “Niggas in Paris” beat led to the song being released as an official single in September. In the time since then, the original song has grown in popularity with fans. Nearly two months have passed since the song was released and the popularity has fueled the song to the top.
Jay-Z and Kanye West, now known as The Throne when together, are no strangers to topping the R&B/Hip Hop Charts. Dissed by Lil Wayne a few months ago, Jay-Z has now bumped him off the top of the charts. Wayne’s Drake-assisted “She Will,” has been at the top of the charts for some time, but has been replaced by “Niggas in Paris.”
