The Weeknd headlines virtual Fortnite Music Festival
One of today’s biggest music stars is taking his act to the virtual stage. The Weeknd is making his Fortnite debut as the headliner for their music experience “Festival”. Sharing the new trailer earlier this week, the new music based experience takes place inside the game. Gamers can play along while The Weeknd performs his chart topping single “Take My Breath Away.”
Adding to his already historic career, this collaboration further proves The Weekend’s legendary status. For 2023, he earned over 12 billion streams on Spotify. His sold out “After Hours Till Dawn” Tour, generated over $130 million, with more than twenty-seven dates in the United Kingdom, Europe and Latin America regions. In addition to his successful tour run, he is certified five-times platinum and the first Canadian artist to earn four diamond-certified singles. As one of the top selling music artist, his records have sold over $75 million.
Created by Rock Band Studio Harmonix, Festival allows users to play the Festival portion solo or with a group. The game will also feature a new microphone design, two new bass designs, three songs, and a Weeknd skin available through a Festival Pass. The Weeknd’s music Festival will launch inside Fortnite Saturday, December 9th.
