The Weeknd has had a red-hot start to 2022, as he released his fifth studio album, a week ago. This was with “Dawn FM,” which went on to debut at number one, in the US.
The Weeknd’s momentum continues to roll on, to start the new year. The Toronto native is now reportedly the most streamed artist of 2022 so far, on Spotify. This as he’s totaled over 500 million streams.
Dawn FM was led by the “Take My Breath” single, which was put out in August. “Sacrifice” has also since been been named the latest single, off of this new project. Dawn FM also contained appearances from Lil Wayne and Tyler, The Creator. Quincy Jones and Jim Carrey also provided narrations.
The Weeknd’s 2022-leading streams definitely come as no surprise. He’s released two albums in less than two years, as “After Hours” came out in March 2022. To date, Weeknd has had four straight number one albums.
