The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights,” Becomes No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 Song, of All-Time

The Weeknd has been one of the biggest artists in the world over the past two years as usual, and the numbers back it up. His biggest record over this span has been “Blinding Lights,” which was originally released in November 2019, and debuted at number one, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Blinding Lights also went on to appear on Weeknd’s fourth studio album, “After Hours.” That also went on to debut at number one, on the Billboard 200 chart.

In February, Blinding Lights was named as Billboard’s biggest hit of the century. Now, this single has reached another impressive Billboard milestone. Today, it was announced that it’s now the No. 1 Hot 100 song, of all-time.

“A designation that factors in total weeks on the chart as well as exact chart positions, with weeks at No. 1 earning the greatest value and weeks at No. 100 earning the least,” Billboard explained.

The previous song to hold this record, was Chubby Checker’s “The Twist,” from 1960. Blinding Lights is also the longest-charting song on the Hot 100, and spent an entire year in the Hot 100 top 10.
