The Weeknd has been making history all year long with his “Blinding Lights” single as well as his fourth studio album, “After Hours.” Blinding Lights recently became the first single to spend over a year on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It was also certified 7x platinum by the RIAA in the US.
Blinding Lights has reached another impressive milestone as well. According to Chart Data, the single has now tied the record as the longest-running top 20 hit in Billboard Hot 100 history. This is at the 60-week mark. Blinding Lights currently stands at No. 6 on the Hot 100.
Blinding Lights originally appeared on the After Hours album, which was released a little over a year ago on March 20. That album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and the rest was history. The Weeknd was advised at his label not to put the album out due to the pandemic starting but he still won big anyway.
