The Weeknd is getting ready for the biggest performance of his career on Sunday as he will be performing at halftime of Super Bowl LV. Last week, he also put out his “The Highlights” album, which is a project filled with some of his greatest hits to date such as “Blinding Lights,” “The Hills,” and “Starboy” feat Daft Punk.
The release of The Highlights has been a great way to celebrate The Weeknd’s career as well as putting new fans on to his music. It’s been a massive amount of success in its first week as it has already achieved an epic milestone.
According to Chart Data, The Highlights is now the most streamed album of all-time on Spotify. This is after accumulating 12 billion streams. The Highlights contains 18 tracks in total with other features from Ariana Grande and Kendrick Lamar on The Weeknd classics such as “Pray For Me” and “Love Me Harder.”
In 2020, The Weeknd had another huge project with his fourth studio album, “After Hours.” This debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and is platinum in the US. It contained the No. 1-charting singles, “Blinding Lights” and “Heartless.” Now, the entire world can celebrate all of the XO star’s greatest hits on the biggest stage in the world on February 7.
