Around the time Tupac died, he had reached new heights in the rap game. Him joining forces with Death Row Records was a power move. Tupac wasted no time getting at all of his enemies on one diss track, which he called “Hit Em Up” and he took aim at basically the whole East Coast.

Tupac even took shots at Jay-Z on the track, but those disses ended up being muted out because there were no direct shots. Before any real peace could be brokered, Tupac died an unfortunate death that forever changed hip hop. Both Jay-Z and Biggie stated they were saddened by Tupac dying.

This is considered a classic era in hip hop and is arguably the most-reflected upon in the history of the game. As recent as today, “Hit Em Up” made headlines again because footage from the video shoot was released. Several behind the scenes clips from the video shoot hit the internet today.
