#TIDALXyasiinbey is another win for TIDAL, as fans celebrate Yasiin Bey’s new music and his legendary career (LIVE CONCERT INCLUDED) [VIDEO]

Until 2012, Yasiin Bey was known as Mos Def, but he made an official name change. Throughout his career, both as a solo artist and as a member of Black Thought, Mos Def made an impact on the game. He was a pioneer in rappers becoming serious actors, too.

Yasiin Bey got caught up in some legal drama in Africa that left him unable to leave for months. Upon returning to the States, Yasiin Bey became a partner in Jay Z’s TIDAL. Immediately, he dropped December 99th to critical acclaim.

Tonight, Yasiin Bey performed the album, and some of his classic records, for Apollo Theater in New York City. The concert began an hour and a half ago and the fans are loving it. They have taken to Twitter in celebration of the new music.
