Earlier this week, the world was shocked after hearing about the sudden passing of the legendary Tina Turner. She was 83-years-old at the time, as she was reportedly battling a “long illness.” Turner is recognized as one of the greatest artists of all time in R&B, as well as being the “Queen of Rock ‘N Roll.”

Meanwhile, Turner is about to be honored in her birthplace of Brownsville, TN. According to TMZ, Mayor Bill Bawls Jr wants a statue of Turner created. As a result, this would be placed at Brownsville’s Heritage Park, which is near Carver High School. That is also the school that she attended. In addition to this potential statue, Brownsville also has a Tina Turner Museum.

“When Tina stepped on stage, she owned it,” said Bawls Jr in a statement. “We want this statue to represent that passion. Tina was an inspiration to the entire world … She showed the people of Brownsville no matter where you start, you own your story about where you end up.”

Meanwhile, Turner’s streams have also been increasing significantly, since her passing. In particular, her biggest song of her career, “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” has been receiving the most love.
