New life entered the Philadelphia hip hop scene, when guys like Meek Mill and Tone Trump were coming up. Both rappers hit it big in 2011 and 2012, respectively, showing off their city’s growth to the world. Ironically, with both emcees being from the same city, they initially joined opposing sides.

Tone Trump joined Young Jeezy at CTE and it looked like it was going to be a very strong union. But, Tone Trump ended up leaving CTE during the same time Freddie Gibbs left the popular label. Now, Tone Trump is back to being an independent artist and he is working on his new album.

Recently, Vivian Billings hosted Tone Trump on ThisIs50 Radio. He spoke about the release of his upcoming debut album, which is released independently and he talked about appreciating Young Jeezy. Tone Trump also discussed the Philadelphia hip hop scene that he came up in.
