Too $hort talks starting rap in Oakland, music career, and more with Hot 97 [VIDEO]

Hands down the longest-running rapper in the game, Too $hort has done it all and seen it all. Putting in three decades of work in hip hop does that to a guy. Despite his time in the game and his age, Too $hort continues to blend in with the time, fitting into every generation.

Hip hop in the Bay Area was jump-started by Too $hort. Every rapper in the Bay Area, especially those from Oakland pay homage to Short Dawg. Too $hort went through a lot, witnessing the East/West feud firsthand and mending fences through his collaborations with Jay-Z.

Back in New York City, Too $hort talked to Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg for his popular segment, Juan Epstein. Too $hort opened up about how his career began on the streets of Oakland and his current music career. He went on to explain other aspects of his career.
