Tory Lanez files appeal after recent conviction in Megan Thee Stallion shooting trial
Tory Lanez appeals guilty verdict in shooting trial
It’s been over three months now, since Tory Lanez was convicted on all three counts in his Megan Thee Stallion shooting trial. Among them were assault with a semi-automatic firearm, possession of a concealed, unregistered firearm, negligent discharge of a firearm. Tory was initially supposed to be sentenced this month or in April, after it was postponed, back in January.
However, Tory has now filed an appeal of his conviction, according to TMZ. Tory’s attorney Jose Baez added that prosecutors tried to use Tory’s machine gun tattoo as evidence, as well as his lyrics in his songs.
In addition to these situations, Tory’s legal team added that prosecutors were wrong to use an Instagram comment made by one of Megan’s producers. There, he claimed that police discovered that the bullets from Tory’s gun matched up to the fragments in Megan’s foot. Therefore, they are also trying to shut down a statement by Megan to police, where she claimed that Tory told her “Please don’t say anything because I’m on probation.”
Meanwhile, Megan also ended her long social media hiatus, this month. She went on to post various trending photos on Instagram, as well as appearing at Vanity Fair’s Grammy party. Meg is also performing at the AT&T Block Party in her hometown of Houston this weekend, for the Final Four, of the NCAA Tournament.
