Tory Lanez is no longer on house arrest, due to his trial in Megan Thee Stallion shooting case beginning

Tory Lanez released from house arrest to head to trial

Last week, Tory Lanez’s trial for his case, involving allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion, began, starting with jury selection. Tory was initially accused by Megan of shooting her, with the incident supposedly occurring in July 2020, in Los Angeles. A month later, Megan publicly made her claim against Tory, while on Instagram Live.

In late October, Tory was placed on house arrest, as he was accused of assaulting August Alsina. However, he has now been released from this home confinement, due to this current trial beginning, according to Rolling Stone’s Nancy Dillon.

Judge David Herriford went on to state that he made this decision mainly for trial preparation. The charges in this case are one felony count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. If convicted, Tory faces 22 years and eight months in prison. He plead not guilty, back in November 2020.

Tory has since been extremely consistent with his music releases. He’s released various albums of different genres, over the course of the last two years. His latest project was “Sorry 4 What,” in September.
