Earlier this month, Tory Lanez was officially sentenced to 10 years in prison. That came as a result of being found guilty on three felony counts in December, for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot in 2020. However, Tory did receive almost a year of credit for time served. Many anticipated Tory to receive between 10-13 years in prison, as this was the initial goal by the prosecution.

Meanwhile, Tory has officially filed an appeal against his sentence. This comes after a longer wait to do so, as his attorney Jose Baez initially planned to do so, two weeks after the sentencing. Baez was criticized for not filing an appeal on time, and being in Italy. However, Baez explained how he has clients in Italy, and is frequently there. Baez went on to bash legal reporter Meghann Cuniff for mentioning how he was in Italy.

Moreover, Tory’s hearing for an appeal and his request to post bail is now scheduled for September 5. The court document for this scheduled hearing was posted online, as this will take place inside the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Los Angeles.
