Ending his major label deal with Interscope Records robbed Game of the chance to give his fans an album in 2013. After making his audience wait three years for an album, between L.A.X. and The R.E.D. Album, Game decided to give fans an album a year. But, business came first and he had to break away.

For those who remember correctly, Game did release O.K.E.: Operation Kill Everything in 2013. The mixtape essentially severed the purpose of an album and even charted on Billboard. Game told his fans that mixtape was his album for the year of 2013.

As far as 2014 is concerned, Game is putting together Year of the Wolf, which serves as an introduction to his Blood Money Entertainment label. He signed Skeme and DUBB to the label and they are featured on the album. Also featured on the album is Soulja Boy, French Montana, Yo Gotti, Problem, 2 Chainz, Bobby Shmurda, T.I., and Jeezy, among others.
