Trevor Noah denies being the one who got Kanye West’s upcoming Grammy performance canceled

Trevor Noah denies getting Kanye West’s Grammy performance pulled

Over the weekend, it was confirmed that Kanye West will not be performing at the Grammys next month. This was due to his recent behavior on Instagram, which got him suspended for 24 hours. Ye called out Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson, Trevor Noah, and D.L. Hughley. Kanye violated the app’s terms of bullying, hate speech, and harassment.

Kanye went on to call Noah a “coon,” after calling out Kanye for how he’s been treating Kim and Pete Davidson. The talk show host was also critical of Kanye burying Pete in his “Eazy” music video.

“There are some stories that I feel transcend everything, and then speak to larger conversations, and I honestly think the Kim Kardashian-Kanye West-Pete Davidson situation is turning into that,” he said. “It started very much in the land of tabloid, but I feel like it’s creeping and has crept into a world that more people should pay attention to, but for the reason you may think.”

Noah is hosting the Grammys, and there was speculation that he was who got Kanye’s performance pulled. According to sources close to CNN, this is not true.

“Trevor never asked the Grammys to ban Kanye from performing. He was not offended by Kanye’s Instagram post and Trevor responded on Instagram. The notion that Trevor or his team asked the Grammys to ban Kanye is ridiculous.”

This afternoon, Noah even tweeted “I said counsel Kanye not cancel Kanye.” This comes several days after Noah responded to Kanye’s comments, and hopes that he gets better, emotionally.

“You’re an indelible part of my life Ye. Which is why it breaks my heart to see you like this. I don’t care if you support Trump and I don’t care if you roast Pete. I do however care when I see you on a path that’s dangerously close to peril and pain. You have every right to fight for your family But you have to know the different between that and fighting your family. I’ve woken up too many times and read headlines about men who’ve killed their exes, their kid and then themselves. I never want to read that headline about you.”
