Last night at the AFC Championship Game in Kansas City, the hometown Chiefs did it big again. They scored the 38-24 victory over the Buffalo Bills and moved on to their second straight Super Bowl appearance. They will be looking to repeat as champions.

The game didn’t go as planned at all for Trey Songz, who attended the game. He was arrested by police after being approached by them. Fans around the area reportedly heckled him at first but others said he did nothing wrong. An officer started to get physical with Trey and that’s when Trey landed a punch and a headlock. Other police showed up as the R&B star was arrested and charged with misdemeanor trespassing and resisting arrest. He was also hit with a low-grade felony for assaulting a police officer.

Trey was officially released from custody this morning as his mugshot surfaced as well, according to TMZ. According to the outlet, the officer involved in the Trey altercation reportedly got physical due to Trey refusing to wear a mask at the game for COVID-19 rules. Police had to step in after Trey continued to refuse to put his mask on and follow COVID-19 protocols.

The KCPD also said that the case is now being referred to the Jackson County Prosecutor for further review. Trey’s attorney, John P. O’Connor, still hasn’t commented on the situation. As for the mask situation, Trey ended up catching COVID-19 back in October. He was asymptomatic though and ended up releasing his ‘Back Home‘ album that same week.
