At one point, Tru Life was the most-promising rapper in the game. When he got signed, he joined Roc La Familia, the Latin division of Roc-A-Fella Records. During this span of time, Jay-Z was running Def Jam.
Tru Life ended up being sentenced to prison, just before the label fallout. Though he did get released, late in 2007, this was when the official shutdown was taking place. The entire Roc-A-Fella was suspending, as Roc Nation was launching.
Recently, Tru Life appeared on Pistol Pete’s “Dog In The Yard” podcast. In this interview, he spoke on all of the rumors. Along with this, he discussed going to prison at the height of his career.
