Cash Money Records made a name for itself, regionally, in the early 1990s and the label had a solid roster of artists. In the late 1990s, the label added such talents as Juvenile, B.G., Lil Wayne, and Turk. It would be these four that would bring the label to mainstream success.
Hard times would fall upon Turk, who left Cash Money Records in 2003, as he was sentenced to prison the next year. Returning in 2012, Turk came back to see his former label much bigger. In 2012, Turk told Hip Hop Vibe he was interested in re-signing with Cash Money Records.
Turk would soon call Cash Money Records and the artists on the label that he knew out for their lack of support when his father died. Later, Turk would sue Cash Money for the unpaid royalties that originally caused him to leave the label. Now, Turk has settled out of court with the label for the $1.3 million.
