Last week, Tyga released his Hotel California album. Cash Money Records is on a roll, releasing Lil Wayne’s album before Tyga’s and they have plans to release albums from Drake, Ace Hood, Nicki Minaj, DJ Khaled, and Limp Bizkit before year’s end. But, the current focus is on Tyga and his album.
Because he had no lead single, the record sales for Tyga’s Hotel California were projected to be rather low. However, the name Tyga built off his mixtapes and his last album have kept him going and generated his sales. Projections had Tyga selling between 45,000 and 50,000 copies in its first week.
It turns out Tyga did much better than the projections stated. Billboard has their official chart out and Hotel California is sitting at number seven. Standing at number seven on the charts, Tyga sold 51,000 copies in his first week, which is better than projections, yet considerably lower than Careless World‘s first week sales.
