Tyler Perry, and his relationship Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, was touched on in the latest episode of the Netflix docuseries, “Harry and Meghan.” Their friendship with Tyler Perry was highly discussed. As many remember, Perry let Harry and Meghan live in his mansion, after they left the UK. In the series, the couple elaborates on the mistreatment they have faced from the Royal Family and citizens of the United Kingdom. However, the kindness shown by Tyler Perry led to them asking him to be the godfather of their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

Tyler Perry offered his home to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, despite their already lavish lifestyle. That lifestyle, unfortunately, comes at a price. Because of who Prince Harry is, Meghan Markle immediately was thrust into the public eye of the whole United Kingdom. As a result, when they wed, the citizens and the media had it in for Meghan. In addition, her being an American fed into a lot of the backlash. All of this led to Prince Harry stepping down from his Royal duties. Now they are telling their story in their Netflix series.

Tyler Perry made a guest appearance episode six of “Harry and Meghan.” During his confessional, he spoke about the couple and his surprise on being named the godfather to Lilibet. In the episode, Perry explained how the situation came to be. Normally, their conversations are light. However, this one was heavier in tone. Despite his surprise, Perry told them “I’d be honored.” Later, Perry said he was apprehensive about going to the UK to do the dedication.
