Over the past decade, several television shows have had reboots. Now, even some of the more recent shows are getting the reboot treatment. A lot of what is being done was made possible by Tyler Perry and how he worked to have his shows uniquely broadcast.
Tyler Perry made his shows into a household name via TBS. This also served as a strong promotional outlet for his movies. However, in 2012, the popular filmmaker ended his business relationship with TBS, but moved on with OWN.
Recently, Lance Gross took to Instagram and revealed “House of Payne” would be returning to television. A spinoff will be taking place, as Curtis and Ella (Lavan and Cassi Davis) moved to Florida after retiring. There, they got into a real estate deal gone wrong, bringing the rest of the gang into the action.
