UC Berkeley to teach Nicki Minaj course in spring 2023

Over the past 13 years, Nicki Minaj has established herself as one of the biggest rappers of all-time. She came up under the mentorship of Lil Wayne and being signed to Young Money records, and that helped her soar to superstardom, in 2009.

Now, Nicki’s stardom has resulted in a course at the University of California, Berkeley, naming a course after her. According to KTLA, this is the  “Nicki Minaj: The Black Barbie Femmecee & Hip Hop Feminisms” course. Nicki also recently revealed that she’d like to visit this class.

Therefore, students will be able to enroll in it, for the spring 2023 semester. According to this course’s professor, it will “encourage students to think about how Minaj’s impact on the hip-hop music industry connects to the broader historical-social structures and hip-hop feminisms.”

Nicki has also been very consistent in 2022, regarding single releases. She’s put out over four, which include “Do We Have A Problem?” featuring Lil Baby, “Bussin” featuring Lil Baby, “We Go Up” featuring Fivio Foreign and “Super Freaky Girl.” In September, the remix included Akbar V, Maliibu Miitch, BIA, and JT. Nicki also appeared on Bleu’s new “Love In The Way” single. Fans hope these releases will lead to Nicki releasing her first album, since 2018.
