Usher addresses his Lovers & Friends Festival getting canceled due to strong winds in Las Vegas

Usher speaks on Lovers & Friends Festival getting canceled

On Friday evening, many fans arrived in Las Vegas to attend Usher’s third annual Lovers & Friends Festival. However, fans were soon stunned, after the festival put out a statement, where they revealed that Saturday’s even would be canceled. This came as a result of a severe wind warning in Las Vegas.

“Lovers & Friends Festival organizers have been monitoring the weather for several days and proactively preparing for a windy Saturday.  However, the National Weather Service has now issued a High Wind Warning, including dangerous 30-35 mph sustained winds with gusts potentially more than 60 mph.  Following advice from the National Weather Service and in consultation with local public officials, we must make the safest decision for our fans, artists, and staff, and cancel tomorrow’s Lovers & Friends Festival.”

Meanwhile, Usher has also addressed the cancelation of Lovers & Friends. He took to Twitter/X at 6AM PT, to express his disappointment, and that he had to follow the orders of city officials and the National Weather Service.

Lovers & Friends was set to feature another legendary lineup. This would’ve included Usher, Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, T.I., Jeezy, Ludacris, Ja Rule & Ashanti, Mya, Rick Ross, and much more.

Usher has had a massive year overall, as he performed at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, in February. That same weekend, he also put out his new “Coming Home” album, and even got married to his longtime girlfriend. Furthermore, Usher’s Coming Home Tour is also kicking off in August.
