As the election season unfolds, people from all over the world are stating their opinion. Although there is nothing wrong with picking a side, the consequence of personal belief can create conflict. In a recent episode of The View, Grammy-winning r&b superstar Usher endorses Kamala Harris. The endorsement came during their recent episode, where Usher emphasizes the importance of voting and making informed decisions.
The Top Artist of the Year
Usher, is having an incredible 2024. The mega star’s ninth studio album Coming Home hit streaming services in February. That 20 single project, includes features from Summer Walker, 21 Savage, Burna Boy, H.E.R. and others. Shortly after the album release, he announced his Past, Present, Future tour set for this Summer. Touring in nearly 41 cities across North America, the show stopper has already had to add more shows. Further adding to his impressive year, Usher gave a memorable performance at the 2024 SuperBowl Halftime show. Furthermore, Usher is releasing his new concert film titled Usher: Rendezvous in Paris this Friday.
A Surprising Turn of Events
With all of his recent releases and tour, his interview on The View started off as a light and exciting exchange. The conversation took an unexpected turn when co-host Joy Behar asked Usher about his stance on the 2024 election. Usher, known for his smooth vocals, didn’t shy away from the political spotlight. He responds stating, “I think it’s crucial for everyone to do their own research and make an informed choice, For me, Kamala Harris represents the future we need.”
The endorsement quickly went viral with clips of the segment circulating all throughout social media. However, different clips began circulating attempting to spin the narrative, suggesting Usher initially declined Harris. Furthermore, he states he did not watch the recent presidential debate. Although, the entire interview was ten minutes, viewers couldn’t help but focus on this one moment.
Usher isn’t the first celebrity to announce his political beliefs. Other stars like Cardi B, Katy Perry, Jermaine Dupri, Taylor Swift and Demi Lavato have all publicly backed Harris. Beyoncé recently let Harris use her song “Freedom” as her campaign anthem, further adding to her celebrity support.

Overall, the current presidential election is a trending topic for everyone. After the recent televised debate, more supporters are openly voicing who their vote is going for. Despite celebrities having a huge advantage, the ultimate decision isn’t up to them to decide.
