Twenty years ago, Usher was a virtual no-name, despite having released an album, four years prior. All around, his Call Me a Mack album was a misunderstood effort. But, My Way saw Usher embrace who he was and what he was about.

It was that level of honesty that gave Usher something he never had before, a hit record. The single, “You Make Me Wanna,” is a classic and it made Usher into a superstar. He would follow the single up with more hits, including the title track.

Usher would go onto release several more chart-topping albums and singles, with 2004’s Confessions being the highlight. But, without My Way, there would be none of this. So, this morning, Usher took to his Instagram to share his breakthrough album with the world on the anniversary.
