Usher dated Chilli from 2001 until 2004 and were a popular couple. Early in 2004, the couple announced they were no longer together. On the heels of the breakup, Usher dropped “Yeah!,” with Ludacris and Lil Jon. The song became the anthem of the summer. This song introduced his fourth album, Confessions. The album went onto become one of the highest selling albums of all-time. On the twentieth anniversary of the album release, he did the Super Bowl.

He revealed he proposed to her, but she ended up turning the proposal down. After that, the couple ended up deciding to break up.
