Usher ties Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye as R&B artists with most number one hits

Twenty one years since the release of his debut album, Usher is still going strong. His album, UR, didn’t come out last year, but Usher regrouped to come back harder than before. Teaming up with strip club anthem king, Juicy J, Usher delivered “I Don’t Mind.”

After struggling to gain a hit during the UR era, Usher managed to snap out of it. Not only did fans take to “I Don’t Mind,” they helped Usher get back into the top 40 with it. Now, Usher is experiencing even more success, as it has topped the Rap/R&B charts.

With “I Don’t Mind,” Usher has now scored thirteen number one songs on Billboard. This now ties him with Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye for the thirteenth number one single and seventh on the all-time list. Together, they trail the likes of Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, and Stevie Wonder for the higher spots.
