Vanilla Ice To Perform in Texas on July 3 With 2,500 Tickets Being Made Available Even Though The State is Getting Hit Hard By The Rona

We all miss going to concerts a lot and it’s become very depressing hearing about the COVID-19 pandemic canceling many of the festivals that were scheduled for 2020. Among the ones we’ve lost are Coachella, Rolling Loud, Lollapalooza, and more.

Many artists are ready to get back to the stage though and secure the bag with Tank being the most recent to voice his opinion. Now, Vanilla Ice is the latest and is set to perform in Austin, TX on July 3. It’s being titled as an “Independence Day Throwback Beach Party.”

The venue is the Emerald Point Bar and Grill and located at Lake Travis. It’s also categorized as a restaurant and has a large outdoor space. 51% of its sales are food and that’s how the venue has been able to get a pass to get labeled as a restaurant and hold this concert, according to the Austin Chronicle. 2,500 tickets will be sold though, which is half of the venue’s normal capacity. Tickets are being sold for $25 for general admission while the $300 VIP seating has been sold out.

Social media has since been saying that this is a horrible move on Ice’s part. They believe that the fast spread of the virus in Texas should not allow large gatherings, especially concerts, to go on. Nobody can blame them at all. Hopefully, mask rules are enforced. Check out Ice’s excitement on Instagram about the concert and reactions from Twitter below.
