Victoria Monét earns three wins at Grammys

On Sunday, at the Grammys, Victoria Monét one was one of the biggest winners of the night. She took home three Grammys, after being nominated for seven. These were in the categories of Best R&B Album, Best Engineered Non-Classical Album, as well as Best New Artist, near the end of the evening. Monét was visibly emotional, as fans on social media also went on to applaud her.

Victoria Monét’s huge Grammy wins come after putting in work for 15 years, and finally being recognized on a much more mainstream level. Moreover, the wins also arrived after dominating 2023 with her debut studio album, “Jaguar II.

Monét’s Jaguar II contained 11 songs, which was led by the smash hit single, “On My Mama.” On My Mama initially sampled Chalie Boy’s “I Look Good.” Moreover, the album also contained features from Lucky Daye, Earth, Wind, & Fire, and Buju Banton. As a result, the album went on to see a peak of number 60 in the US, on the Billboard 200 chart. Furthermore, Monét went on to venture on her Jaguar II tour in the fall, which saw sold out dates, as soon as they were initially announced.
