Victoria Monét’s breakout “On My Mama” single goes platinum
Victoria Monét had a massive breakout 2023, after years of putting work in. She released her debut studio album “Jaguar II,” which contained the smash hit single, “On My Mama.” 11 songs were available in total, as the R&B star also collaborated with Lucky Daye, Earth Wind & Fire, and Buju Banton. Following that release of Jaguar II, Monét ventured on her sold-out Jaguar II.
As a result, Jaguar II went on to peak at number 60 in the US, on the Billboard 200 chart. Moreover, On My Mama also peaked at number 33 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The success from this record and the album also resulted in Monét winning three Grammys, last month. She received seven nominations in total. The wins came in the categories of Best New Artist, Best R&B Album, as well as Best Non-Classical Engineered album.
Meanwhile, Victoria Monét’s “On My Mama” single has reached another major milestone. It’s now certified platinum by the RIAA, in the US. This comes after selling over 1 million units. Currently, On My Mama stand at number 41 on the Hot 100.
