If you’re anything like me, you’re probably confused as to why Dan Rue keeps flashing across your tv screen as you watch the BET Awards.
The BET Awards celebrate black music and culture, so I’m trying to understand why someone like Dan would even be invited.
Dan became “famous” from dancing, but video surfaced of him using the N-word. In the video, Dan tried to justify his use of saying the word to a black man, although he, himself, is not black. The video is from 2017, but the fact remains that he does not belong somewhere where black people are celebrated when he continues to use the derogatory word. No amount of shaking your knees should allow you to get a pass for what you say.
