Vince Carter will retire from the NBA, following this upcoming season, his 22nd in the NBA

When Vince Carter joined the NBA, in 1998, he was a part of the search for the “next Michael Jordan.” The bald head and the UNC credentials, plus his dunking abilities made him the Air Heir. Some even called him “Air Carter.”

Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady were on the verge of being the 21st century Jordan and Pippen. But, McGrady opted for his own legacy, signing with the Magic. Carter would later be traded to the Nets, before going to the Magic, himself.

Last season, Vince Carter played for the Atlanta Hawks, which came after playing with the Kings, successful run with the Grizzles, Mavericks, prior to that, and the Suns. Because he simply plays for the love, Vince Carter receives crap for NOT trying to win a ring. Now, Vince has announced next season will be his last, making it 22 years in the NBA.
