Violence at BET Awards pre-party leaves one dead and five injured [VIDEO]

During Chris Rock’s set while hosting the BET Awards, he joked about how people warn about the violence that ensues. Unfortunately, there is a stigma surrounding both the BET Awards and every other urban/hip hop event. Hopefully, this will soon change, but it is reality for the moment.

The biggest names in hip hop all poured in for a good time in Los Angeles. They enjoyed each other’s company and they celebrated the best in black greatness all night long. But, before this, there was a fight that broke out and it ended with one person dead.

Before the 2014 BET Awards kicked off, a fight soon led to gunshots. These gunshots left one person dead and five people injured at a local Los Angeles nightclub. BET later reached out to clear the matter up, letting it be known that this was not an official network-sponsored event.
