Early in 2010, Waka Flocka Flame emerged as one of the hottest rappers in the game. Introduced as a protege of Gucci Mane, Waka took over with “O Lets Do It,” which blew up. Later that year, his single, “No Hands,” featuring Roscoe Dash and Wale, became a hit.
Waka Flocka Flame quickly took the game over, but was considered a part of the “problem” in hip hop. Unlike other rappers in his genre, this is something Waka never did. Instead, he embraced his lack of skills, with his I Can’t Rap series.
Now becoming a reality TV star, first doing “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta,” then “Marriage Boot Camp,” and now he has the “Waka & Tammy: What The Flocka” series. Officially, he has moved on from rap.
In his interview on “Everyday Struggle,” Flocka said his goal was to make millions, he made $30 million by 2012, so he “retired,” though he told MTV he would drop more albums, but he cited his “retirement” as him being a “wack” rapper, especially in comparison to his idols, Nas, DMX, and KRS-One.
