Credited as one of the next generation lyrical rappers, Wale enjoyed breakout success in 2011. Early in the year, Rick Ross signed Wale to Maybach Music. Previously, Rick Ross mentioned that he and Wale had talks about him joining his camp. At the time, Wale had left Interscope Records and was a free agent spending his time in Miami at King of Diamonds.

Under Rick Ross’ tutelage, Wale morphed from a sophisticated lyricist into one of the biggest crossover artists in the game. No one doubts Wale’s lyrical prowess, but he is best-known for his hit singles, “That Way,” with Miguel, “Lotus Flower Bomb,” with Jeremih, and “Sabotage,” with Lloyd. Wale initially planned to release his third album in 2012, but Rick Ross said he would wait until 2013.

However, Wale did deliver his Folarin mixtape, which is of the same quality of an album. Among the guests featured on the mixtape included French Montana and Scarface. Wale is looking to push his collaboration with Scarface, “Limitless,” as his next single. As is the case with singles, a music video is coming and Wale leaked photos from this video shoot.
