Earlier this week, Wale was placed in headlines with Janet Jackson. In terms of music, the two have nothing in common aside from the possibility of Janet’s fans’ children liking Wale’s music. But, Wale created a connection between the two.
Before 2014 ended, Wale released his mixtape, Festivus, which was well-received. The mixtape included a song called “Girls On Drugs,” which sampled a Janet Jackson record. However, Wale didn’t go with a very well-known Janet Jackson single.
Still, Wale found himself facing opposition when it came to getting the sample approved to use “Girls On Drugs” for The Album About Nothing. Because of this, Wale vented on Twitter about Janet Jackson blocking the single without knowing the theme. Tonight, however, it was revealed that a change of heart took place and Wale obtained clearance.
