Wale talks “The Album About Nothing,” music business, and more with DJ Superstar Jay [VIDEO]

Wale Superstar JayThis spring belongs to Wale, whether people like it or not. In the new era of the “rap star,” guys like Wale reign supreme. His concept album, The Album About Nothing, is something few rappers would have ever even considered doing.

Originally, Wale wanted to do his Jerry Seinfeld-assisted album when he was on Interscope Records. Them rejecting the idea was among the reasons Wale decided to leave the label. He didn’t face these types of problems at Maybach Music.

When Wale was doing his media rounds, he stopped by Shade 45 to talk to both DJ Superstar Jay and Gray Rizzy. They discussed The Album About Nothing and what it’s now like to have the number one album in the country, as opposed to how it used to be. Wale also spoke on the music business during this interview.
