Wale talks “The Gifted,” inspiration, NFL, and more with Hypetrak [VIDEO]

Three days now stand between Wale and the official release date of The Gifted. It has been a long time coming and it is almost time for Wale to deliver his third studio album. Of course, this is not quite what Wale announced from when he first joined Maybach Music, but his album is coming.

Washington, DC’s hip hop scene has risen to the forefront because of the efforts from Wale and then the members of the scene he helped put the spotlight on. With the summer in full swing, Wale is preparing to enter the spotlight. “Bad” was the breakout hit single and Rihanna is on the remix.

Hypetrak sat down with Wale earlier and he talked about The Gifted. The album is among the most high-profile album releases on the way. During the interview, Wale provided details about his album and he also spoke on the go-go music that inspires him, along with his anticipation for the upcoming NFL season.
