Social media advances made it where these times would always be different than any other time. But, with the next president being seemingly addicted to Twitter, times are very much different. Through his entire campaign, Donald Trump hurled Twitter insults.
Despite winning the presidency, Donald Trump lost the popular vote to his opponent. Furthermore, only 46% of the population actually cast their votes for Trump. This means the majority of voters, whether they voted for Clinton, or not, did not vote for Trump.
Meryl Streep spoke on behalf of those who didn’t when she gave her acceptance speech at the Golden Globes. During her speech, Streep called out Donald Trump for his now-infamous moment of making fun of the disabled journalist. Not surprising, the future president hit back at Meryl Streep, calling her overrated, leading to a hilarious Wanda Sykes clapback.
