Often overlooked in the landscape of strong hip hop years is 2005 and when people do reflect on the time, they address the Houston explosion. Truth be told, 2005 was a good hip hop year for a lot of reasons and Baton Rouge had a strong showing. Trill Ent. took over the game and Webbie became a star.
It’s been eight years since then, but Webbie has remained a fixture in the game. Not needing the mainstream attention has led to Webbie having more success in terms of being an artist. He focuses more on releasing mixtapes than he does releasing albums and this has paid off for him.
Webbie recently made his media rounds in New York City and Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” was one of his stops. Any conversation with Charlamagne Tha God is always wild, but he has DJ Envy and Angela Yee to reign him in. They talked to Webbie about his wild sex moments, snatching chains, and Lil’ Boosie.
