During this current era, people say and do anything to each other. It is this misguided line of thought that’s leading to people getting hurt. Because anything goes, nowadays, it’s more than feelings getting hurt. Instead, people are paying a physical price. One battle rapper learned this the hard way. Ironically, in his line, he was mentioning other White battlers being afraid of using the “n-word.” However, as soon as he did it, he caught one right in between the eyes.
There is so much controversy surrounding the word and how it’s used. The obvious origins of the word make it highly insulting. Then there’s the younger generation that proposed a new spelling and a new pronunciation. Honestly, this 2007 initiative did not sit too well with the leaders of the Black community. Regardless of how it’s spelled, or used, they said don’t use the word anymore. At the time, the young people didn’t listen. Now look.
Recently, a rap battle went viral, but for all of the wrong reasons. On the battle rap scene, there are numerous White rappers who are making a lot of noise. One guy went for the shock value and he was going hard. He called out rappers of all races over the “n-word.” As the rapper went to say the actual word, he barely got it out before things turned physical. The Black man he was going up against hit him right between his eyes. After that, the man was bending over, tending to his injuries.
