White House press secretary responds to Jay-Z’s “Open Letter” [VIDEO]

No rapper commands as much media attention as Jay-Z, but he is a businessman disguised as a rapper. Barack Obama is probably the most-recognizable politician ever, as he marketed himself unlike no other candidate to win the presidency. A longtime trait of the Democratic Party is turning to the urban markets.

However, no presidential candidate ever had actual rappers campaign for them. Jay-Z was instrumental in getting Barack Obama elected as president, both times. The friendship between the two has been well-documented, as the president has admitted to being a big Jay-Z fan.

Addressing the critics for his recent trip to Cuba with Beyonce and him selling his stake in the Brooklyn Nets, Jay-Z released his “Open Letter” single. On the song, Jay-Z raps about a conversation he shared with the president. During a recent press conference, the press secretary for the White House addressed this.
