Outsiders never understand this, but when a person creates something and are passionate about their creation, they will do anything to protect it. In addition to going all out in protection, they consider competition to be the enemy and any form of infringement equals an all out war. Already similar enough is will.i.am and Pharrell.
Honestly, there are not many comparisons between the two, but they are similar because they both push the creative envelope. Another comparison is both of them working on brands with the “I Am” phrase being prominently used. In the case of will.i.am, “i am” is his college fund, which is similar to Pharrell’s “I AM OTHER” brand.
will.i.am took to his Twitter after rumors of him suing Pharrell hit the internet. Clearing the air, will.i.am explained his i am is i am Scholarship, his fund for children trying to go to college. However, will.i.am did file an opposition to Pharrell’s I AM OTHER brand because the names are so close.
